Our Story

The number one question we receive when hosting parties would be - “what made you start this company?” So, to answer that, we go back to the start and explain why we began our journey. Bruce and Michelle began Nerfs Up PA in 2023 after their son, Myles, asked for a Nerf War for his 8th birthday party. Myles has already done trampoline parks, wall climbing, laser tag, bowling and mini golf and he wanted something different. Michelle began doing research looking for a facility in Lancaster to host the birthday or a company to come to our house to facilitate the party, all of which resulted in no matches. The closest party location was about an hour drive, and that was not convenient, there was however, travel nerf companies outside of the area but those companies would add milage fees to travel to our house. SO … we decided the only way to have the party was to buy all of the equipment ourselves and have the party. We later thought of how many other parents have a nerf gun or two but may have a kid that wants to have a party like our son did. So, we decided to start Nerfs Up PA.

Michelle has over 15 years of event planning which has helped with creating an event business. She is the one who provides all communication leading up to the party and plans all details. Bruce has grown up playing with Nerf guns and enjoys trying the new guns that are released and the rush of the battle. He oversees player safety and provides tactical support and weapon training. Our daughter, Abagail, joined our adventures and has a passion in photography. Abagail can be seen out on the field taking photos and recording so those who are enjoying the battle have a keepsake to remember the party for years to come.
